A large Australian native tree that grows to 30 metres. Produces a small, pretty white flower which has petals covered in hair. Woody star-shaped seed pods 7-10cm long follow flower production, which split open and become an attractive feast for birdlife.
These seed pods can be added to flower arrangements for a decorative spark. Great as a shade tree, plus bird and butterfly attracting. Can also be used as an impressive feature tree that will grab attention.
Enjoys full sun or part shade and a moist, rich, well-drained soil.
