Banksia integrifolia Coast Banksia

An Australian native tree that grows to suit its surroundings, can reach as high as 25 meters when undisturbed and in harsher conditions will stay in the form of a medium shrub. It has dull green leaves with a white underside. Produces a large yellow flower.  Extremely hardy tree which can handle most conditions.

Uses

Used for erosion control and a windbreak in coastal conditions, can be a feature tree with it's pretty, bird attracting flowers.

Position & Soil

Naturally suited to coastal conditions but can tolerate inland areas with frost and drought, prefers dry well drained soils.
