Agave tenuifolia Century plant

Perennial evergreen succulent. Plant dies after blooming and the younger plant will grow in its place. Grows to about 30cm tall and wide. Leaves are a narrow green spare with pointy tip. Flowers are yellow and grow on a stalk. 

Uses

Low maintenance landscaping plants, for areas that are provided with little water. Also known for agave nectar as a sweet honey replacement in cooking. The plant can be cooked and eaten, although it is more commonly used for its fabulouse succulent looks.

Position & soil

Extremely drought tolerant, thrives in desert terrain. Requires well drained soil and full sun.
