A vigorous evergreen tree or shrub, the Banana Magnolia is great for hedging or as a feature tree. Delicious creamy coloured, banana scented flowers sprout from spring to summer and sometimes into fall. Deep green glossy foliage protrudes out around each flower like protective spears.
Great to use as hedging, a screen or a pretty feature display. Enjoys full sun to part shade and will grow fast under the right conditions. Can be used as a container plant for multiple years and generally grows to around 15-20’ high.
Enjoys moist, acidic, well-drained, humus rich and moderately fertile soil.
